Just previous to Edward Kennedy's death, news media outlets caught wind that the Senator may have been seriously ill and in rapidly declining health. Knowing that his passing would create a media flurry and increased demand for knowledge of the Senator, LIN New Media quickly sprang into action to create something more engaging to site users than just the standard written story.

Accompanying a write up on his passing, this interactive not only showed some of the background of the Senator himself, but also delved into the Kennedy Family as a whole. Each member of the immediate family has a portrait image and link to their individual Wikipedia biographies for those viewers wanting to learn more about them.
